Hi, there. I’m feeling somewhat estranged from this online space, but I’ve been feeling the pull lately to make a sudden appearance.
We’ve had so much going on in the last… YEAR?! since I’ve been here, so just to give you a little background. If any of you remember, we spontaneously sold our home in the summer of 2015 and hit the road in our fifth wheel in search of elsewhere…The decision was whimsical and sort of like following a whisper. WeView full post »
Okay, so apparently I’m a little more obsessed with all things chocolatey than I’ve ever been willing to admit. And since this little blog here is letting the secret out, I see no reason to hide anymore. 😉 Especially since chocolate can be healthy, energizing, and detoxifying with an extra dose of happy, it would be kind of silly selfish not to share the goodness. Don’t you think?
By definition, these are not exactly ‘chocolate’ or from the cacao bean, butView full post »
If you’re a pancake fan like we are, but you don’t want the extra carbs weighing you down, this recipe will probably become a breakfast or brunch go to.
They’re filled with all the good stuff- you know that’s how we like it. They have a lower glycemic index for those of you with sugar sensitivities, and the berry sauce + fresh blueberries brings all the antioxidants for cell protection. Plus you have the pasture raised egg with that golden yolk- bringing you extraView full post »
Is it really the week before Christmas? I mean, we did NOT just blow through Halloween and Thanksgiving. Did we? I know it sounds cliche but, Time FLIIIIIEEEEESSSS! It doesn’t always seem that way in the moment, but then looking back, it’s crazy sometimes. Maybe that means I’m regretting something…I hope not, and I don’t think so. No regrets! Anyway, here we are in December. December 14th to be exact, and I’ve been hiding. Away from the blogging world. LackView full post »
Heeeeyyyyy, so tomorrow is Halloweeeeeen and the holiday season in America has officially begun! This means you can expect the foodie radar to be set for all things pumpkin-apple-spice and everything festive and nice. I personally love the holiday season and never tire of all the possible ways to dress up your squash- pumpkin included. I especially love sweet and spicy roasted pumpkin seeds and pumpkin soup with bacon and cream…mmmm…I would love to hear your festive, fall inspiredView full post »
I’m always trying to squeeze in as many veggies throughout the day as possible, and I have found that if I start eating them at breakfast time, it really sets the tone for the rest of the day. Not that I’m likely to give up my fruit and grain-like breakfast tendencies any time soon, but hey. I just may, and if you like going mean and green breakfast style…well..you may too. Disclosure: I am not suggesting that fruit and ‘grain-like’ things for breakfast areView full post »
We’ve made it to September y’all, and fall is on its way! Temps all over the country are starting to dip, leaves are falling, and people everywhere are getting their bake on. So in preparation of the coming season, I dedicate this recipe to all of you who dream of citrus and cinnamon, cozy blankets, hot tea, and tall leather boots to crunch through those orange and red painted leaves- with the crisp autumn breeze running through your hair. Oh, fall- you couldn’t come soonView full post »
Anything you can make using only one pan has all respects from me. And who ever invented the cast iron skillet, I love them. This veggie skillet uses only one giant cast iron skillet; which you probably already guessed…like duh, and I don’t like to brag, but it rocks! Working in a tiny kitchen, without modern day conveniences has presented some challenges, both creatively and in all the ways of time saving. There’s no dish washer, no disposal and a tiny fraction ofView full post »
Banana bread was one of the first things I ever learned to bake before going gluten free. It made me feel all Betty Crocker like, with my apron on, flour all over the place, the kitchen smelling like a bakery, and the kids…not to mention friends that dropped by- were always happy. I love feeding people. Especially when it makes them smile. You know what I mean?
Anyway, as you all know, removing gluten from baking changes things. And I’ve tried many ‘gluten free andView full post »
